Job description

GEV Wind Power is seeking a skilled and experienced Wind Turbine Technician with a focus on Major Component Exchange (MCE) to join our team. As an MCE Technician, you will be a crucial part of maintaining and improving the efficiency of wind turbine operations by performing high-quality component replacements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and replacing major components of wind turbines.
  • Familiarity with a range of turbine models (e.g., GE, Siemens, Vestas and Nordex).
  • Technical knowledge in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Detailed knowledge and skill in generators, converters, controllers, and electrical equipment
  • Ability to recognize potential issues and major faults


Job requirements

  • Minimum of [3-5+] years’ experience as a Wind Turbine Technician, with significant experience in Major Component Exchange.
  • Citizen of or eligible to travel to and work in Canada for extended periods of time (valid passport required)
  • Ability to work an 8-week on, 1 week off rotation
  • Physically able to safely climb wind turbines up to 90m+ (300+ feet), stand, stoop, walk, crawl, crouch, stoop and generally meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Valid and current driving license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Must be 21 years of age to be able to drive a company vehicle
  • Must be able to proficiently read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to support wind farm projects by traveling to various sites in the U.S. and Canada
  • Satisfactory criminal background check
  • GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) - fire awareness, working at heights, manual handling, first aid
  • GWO BTT (Basic Technical Training) - electrical, hydraulic, mechanical
  • SGRE Basic Technician Training
  • OSHA 10 General Industry
  • NFPA 70E Arc-Flash Awareness
