Job description

This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, an analytical mindset, and a commitment to ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies. The Revenue Accountant will collaborate with various departments to support revenue recognition, billing, and the preparation of financial statements.

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in accordance with GAAP or IFRS standards.

  • Oversee the issuance of customer invoices and review revenue contracts for proper billing terms.

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of revenue-related accounts and investigate variances.

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to revenue, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for revenue transactions.

  • Manage internal WIP reporting compliance and data integrity

  • Document and continuously improve Controls and SOP’s

  • Knowledge of 404 compliance is required.

  • Work with sales, operations, and legal teams to ensure correct revenue recognition and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Analyze revenue trends, customer billing issues, and suggest improvements to revenue processes.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable laws/regulations related to revenue.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline revenue accounting processes and enhance efficiencies.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Finance. CPA or CMA certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in revenue accounting or general accounting, preferably in a corporate environment.

  • Experience with revenue recognition principles and accounting software.

  • Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS revenue recognition guidelines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
