Job description
We are hiring a Project Manager with experience managing wind turbine service projects!
GEV Wind Power is growing, and we are seeking a skilled Project Manager with experience in managing wind turbine service projects across Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful and timely delivery of projects, meeting key metrics such as safety, quality, cost, and people management. You will also serve as the main point of contact for clients to ensure their expectations are met, while collaborating closely with GEV Operations Coordinators, Safety Department, Field Supervisors, and Business Development teams.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and maintain effective project management processes and control mechanisms to ensure effective delivery and completion of projects
Periodically travel to jobsites to evaluate project progress and interface with client (approximately 20%+)
Facilitate and/or lead effective pre-project planning meetings, daily project monitoring, weekly project reviews, timely mobilization and demobilization, and project close-out meetings and related activities
Plan project steps, milestones, labor requirements, supply, equipment and material needs
Ensure that operational and safety procedures are implemented and followed, in collaboration with Field Safety Coordinator
Review and approve Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) and take corrective actions
Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and GEV employees
Monitor and ensure project completion meets customer expectations; ensure that revisions, changes and additions to contracts are properly agreed to and invoiced
Regularly communicate project status, obstacles, risks and successes to all stakeholders
Ensure delivery of entire project meets project margin goals and deadlines
Effectively and clearly document project tracking status in GEV systems and create reports as required
Participate in various meetings as required or requested
Job requirements
To be considered, you must meet the minimum requirements:
5+ years of experience in the Wind Industry, preferably with service experience
2+ years experience in a Project Management role
Bachelor's or Associates Degree a plus
Must be authorized to live and work in Canada
Availability to travel to job sites and client offices across Canada for extended periods (up to 20%+ of the time).
Must have strong two-way communication skills, excellent customer service skills, and be a strong team player
Needs to have excellent attention to detail, great organizational skills, and possess the ability to work independently
Solid project financial skills and general business acumen
Must be dedicated, responsive and have a professional demeanor
Valid drivers license, good MVR record and satisfactory background; (must be eligible to drive a rental vehicle)
Must have strong computer skills including internet, email and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Project Management tools
